Is this a rat or a mouse?
Today I turned on the kitchen light while getting my breakfast at around 6am.. and an animal a little bigger than a hamster zoomed across the floor!!! It went into a hole in the wall and I covered the hole up, but it was dark grayish and it ran so fast I couldn't see the tail.. we sometimes hear them in the roof making shuffling noises. I'm not sure if we have mice or rats?

Its rats i have a pet rat myself they are known to be pests but ppl mistake them, at my sistas boyfriends house they have rats and they could here them eating acorns they come in threw a hole in your house look around your house for any possible rat entries set up raat trap(non killable) take them to some where like a sewer, nearby forest, you could kill them but thats mean, They make lots of noises it almost sounds like a party there having, they are harmless, if you plan to catch them with bare hands or net you can't they are really clever so ya.

I have fancy rats. They are mistaken. They are smart and sweet and they just are plain mistaken. They are loving creatures but yes, it is most likely a rat. Unless it's some kind of mutant mouse!!! But probably not. You have rats.
