Aggressive boar guinea pig?
I originally had a female and a male guinea pig. They mated and i had to separate the both for quite awhile during her pregnancy and i also got the boar neutered so i had to wait another 3 weeks to put them together. The whole family is together now for the first time. The babies are 2 1/2 weeks old. The cage is 9 feet long and 3 feet wide. Ive noticed that the male is still trying to seduce the female and still mounting her ALOT. It does not seem like he like the babys to much though, he will chatter his teeth at them and push them out of their hidey holes. The babys like him though that just the problem, they love running around and playing with their mom but when they try to have fun with their dad it just wont work. Any ideas what the hell is wrong with him or is he just one horny guinea pig?
How long ago did you get him neutered? You need to keep him separated from the female 3 weeks after he gets neutered. If it has not been 3 weeks then the female might be pregnant again.

Make sure there is enough hideys for every pig.
Teeth chattering is normal and its nothing to worry about.
Its also normal for neutered male to mount females. Neutering them does not alter their behavior.
Remember to take all of the male babies away from their mom at 3 weeks or they could get her pregnant.
Hello, first of all i just wanted to say thank you for having a huge cage! Most people keep guinea pigs in tiny cages. But I dont believe he will harm the babies. He's not used to them yet like the mom is, so just give it time. If he is fixed, you shouldnt even have problems in the future (when the babies get older). Because he will no longer be as dominate. Good Luck!
