Sick guinea pig??? HELP!?

My guinea pig recently stopped eating her favorite veggies. I usually feed her some romaine lettuce or some carrots, but now she does not each as much. She still eats her pellets and hay, so is she still ok? Her eye also has some white stuff around it and she is become lazy. Usually around 7 in the afternoon I feed her and she learns to squeak when I walk by her cage but now she is silent. What can I do for my piggie?? I've had her for about 5 years so she is older .... Help!!! Thanks and have a great day:)
Your guinea pig is seriously ill, it has an upper respiratory infection and with out veterinarian intervention it will die.

I have just lost my 2 month old guinea pig to an URI. One of the problems with URI'S and guinea pigs is they are very sensitive to medications so it is hard to find an antibiotic that will kill the bacteria and not the guinea pig.

You want to find an EXOTIC vet asap as they are the only vets that have gone to the extra schooling to specialize in guinea pigs. The meds what will cure your cat or dog will kill your guinea pig and the exotic vet knows this were the general vet does not.

Could be a dental problem, the lack of interest in food. If the white stuff round the eye is there only when she has been grooming then it is normal; otherwise it could be a problem. Any change in behaviour is a good enough reason to see the vet. Guinea pigs aren't "lazy", if she is sitting around doing nothing, this is known as "lethargy" and is a sign of illness. Take her to the vet for a heck up; she could have an infection, or it could be a dental problem. Either way, the vet is the best person to give you a professional diagnosis and the appropriate treatment.
Sometimes they will just lose their appetite, but the white stuff around the eyes could be a sign of something more serious. If it's not much and only here and there then it is probably nothing, but if it is a daily occurrence you may want to look into a vet. I had guinea pigs that would stop eating certain foods for periods of time just because, so it's possible it's just one of those phases. She is getting older so I can't say for sure whether it is serious or just a phase, but keep an eye on her and if it continues I'd look into a vet. Good luck, I hope she's okay!
It sounds as though she is developing an upper respiratory infection and needs to see an exotic vet asap, with out vet intervention she will die. URI'S are very hard on guinea pigs, my little Hoshi had one and it took him 8 weeks on antibiotics to bet it and she was not as sick as your girl is.So please get her to an exotic vet asap.
If there is any change in a guinea pig it should be taken to the vets right away. Guinea pigs always hide any illness so do not assume all is okay just because she is eating. You need to get her eye checked out to make sure it is not an infection. If it is left she may go blind. Get her seen to right away.
I would suggest calling a local Animal Shelter/Clinic. They can most likely help you. Best of luck!
try feeding it more
