every time i crush paper into a ball, or open the guinea pig food, my piggies wheek really loud! i feel like there is something wrong or they dont like the sound ... WHATS WRONG?!
In the wild guinea pig are forgers, as pets they are still forgers, the only way they have to get food all they time is to beg for it though. Every time you make a sound that sounds like there could be food coming they are going to start to beg by wheeking at the top of their lungs, why, because they are guinea pig doing what comes naturally. It does not matter if it just ate and if it has a full tummy it by nature is going to beg for food, a soft word works just as well as food though.
LOL. No, they think they are getting a treat, or food. They have associated the sounds as a plastic bag that holds their veggies, pellets, hay, etc. So they are "wheeking" ; (the loud squeak sound "for food. It's actually very cute. Mine have associated the sound of a knife cutting, the fridge opening, the kiss sound you make to cats and dogs for attention, plastic, and any movement in the kitchen as sounds of food. And they go CRAZY everytime:)
They associate the sound with food. When you ball up a piece of paper, it sounds similar to the sound they hear when you open their bag of food.

Your little guys probably wheek when they hear the refrigerator door open, too.
This is what all guinea pigs do. They just assume you have food and are going to feed them! There is nothing to worry about it is just the way they behave.
