Im trying to decide on which is a better pet, and easier to take care of, a mice or a hamster??
NIETHER!! GET A RAT!!! I have two rats and they are the sweetest pets ever.
I say gerbils! They are active during the day, they live in pairs and they are desert animals so they have less "waste" so the cage cleaning can go to every 2 - 3 weeks.
Mice and hamsters require weekly cage cleaning, or the smell gets BAD. That equate to more supplies and more $ $ $. Hamsters are also nocturnal so they are ready to run when you are heading to bed.: (
I'd highly recommend rats too. They do require some out of cage time (usually at least one hour) to explore and interact with you, every day though. However I've also owned both mice and hamsters and if you can only choose between the 2 I'd suggest female mice (as males can get kind of smelly I think). Also one hamster I had bit me a lot.
I actually just rescued 2 baby mice from my garage, I did some rearranging and the mother couldnt access them anymore. I feed them warm soy-milk for the last couple of weeks. Then one of them died in my hands before she got a chance to open her eyes. I felt horrible. The other one is fine though, She opened her eyes and is as active as ever! I have been raising her in a big aquarium, I got her a hamser wheel (which she loves!) and cut a little door into this small little box and she sleeps in there. With lots of attention and toilet rolls ... I think that she will make a great pet! She loves to run up my arms and play around in my fingers. Her ears are now perked up and adorable. I love her to death and All i have to say to the people on the internet who told me to "give up, and put them out of there misery". Is ... "look at where i am now". Anyway ... I've had hamsters before and they are quite adorable ... MICE ARE DEFFINITLY SMARTER!!! But, idk .... there fast and sneaky ... look up youtube vids on both of them. Hamsters are easier to deal with ... but I like how mice are sort of a smart little spitfire of challenge XD ... Writing this makes me think about the mouse that died .... Im gonna go visit where i buried her. I hope you make the right choice ...
They are about equally easy to take care of. I personally like mice better cause they're smarter. Hamsters are cute but they don't seem as interactive. Mice like more attention and can be trained to do little things. Rats actually make great pets . Some are very affectionate and fun.

Because they clean themselves more, plus they dont stink like hell like rats do!
They are also VERY easy to tame, and are interesting to watch, THEY WILL ALSO BLOW YOU AWAY WITH CUTENESS! ^ - ^

I would say hamsters because I only have hamsters and they are really great. I don't know much about mice just that you must clean the cage twice a week not once like a hamster.
Hamsters are much smarter and if your mouse escapes then the mouse may breed with other mice to make babies; maybe in your house
Neither. Rats are best. Hamsters and mice both don't like being handled.
Hamster or Gerbil . I have had both. I miss my Gerbil dearly!
But my Hamsters are so sweet & a lot of fun!
