My little hamster is lost somewhere on the first floor of my house and we looked everywhere possible, but couldn't find him! I'm afraid he might of went into a small hole on the side of the dish washer. He's very lazy and I'm afraid he won't wake up to walk around. Help please? I'm so afraid that he might die! I can't find him ANYWHERE!
I'm sorry to hear about your lost hamster. We once had a pet hamster at my elementary school and it got out, and we couldn't find him anywhere. Since the school was in a old historic house it had a chimney that was all boarded up. Anyway a few months latter there was a horrible smell coming from the boarded up chimneys ... Well, we all cried.
My suggestion to you is to leave out a few of it's treats on the floor near it's cage and in other good hamster hiding spots, then in the morning you should be able to determine where the little critter is hiding by process of elimination. (If the food is missing from the floor near the dishwasher he/she is probably hiding nearby.)

When i lost my gerbil, i took his food bowl, put some food in it, set his wheel next to it in the middle of the ground and turned the lights off. Then i sat in the chair and listened. i heard rustling in the back room and then he ran up to the food and i caught him! he died this past winter and i am still grieving his loss ..: (

Do this:
Can't keep his cage out? Try a bucket! Clean it, and put food in it.
Do you have something he can climb on to get in the bucket? He WILL smell the food, and climb in, but wont be able to get out:]
OR: Leave food out for him near the place you think he is, and try to spend at LEAST an hour there, and wait and see.
Put some of his food that he really likes in the middle of the floor he should smell it and go to it
