I found a wee little mousie....?
it is a basic field mouse--only about an inch long--it fell out of my ceiling light in my kitchen--hit the chair below it about 5 mins after one of my cats vacated it. he was dazed and sluggish-so i put him in a fishbowl i have with tp and a chunk of bread, and an apple slice--he slept most of the day and ate--now he is all perky and bouncy and whatnot--what can i do to make him comfy until i can get a real tank and i guess a teeny tiny water bottle? tx for any info....
It sounds like you gave him everything to be comfortable :)
maybe put a little tunnel in there like a tp roll (without the tp) because mice like tunnels:)

Huge respect to you for saving and looking after it, a lot of people wouldn't, I had a similar event myself,I found an injured mouse in my garden and cared for it.

Food wise they love pretty much anything. I recommend sunflower seeds, my mouse couldn't get enough of them. They're also pretty cheap and you get lots of them in a bag. A lot of small shops and supermarkets have them. They also love dog biscuits for treats. Weird I know but my mouse would get through one in an hour.

Also, I know this is for domestic mice but I am not sure if it applies to wild ones too. Don't use sawdust in the fishbowl, they are prone to respiratory issues. Newspaper or shredded paper works really well.

Good luck

It's probably best to release the mouse. It may have been indoors, but field mice are wild animals, and like all wild animals, can carry parasites and diseases. If you do decide to keep him, find a vet that specializes in exotics/small animals and get the mouse checked for fleas, intestinal parasites, rabies, etc. to keep yourself and your cats safe.

I would get him some sort of bedding; shredded paper works but don't use newspaper the ink could stain their skin and cause disease. Also, give him a little bit of fruits and veggies, but not too much or he will get sick :(

He may have parasites, but probably not, but just in case take him to a vet to find out. Make sure you keep him outta reach from your kitty!!!! But right now, I would just get some bedding and make sure there is always some source of water, whether it be through fruit or through a water bottle. Don't give him a water bowl or he may fall in and drown!! :(

When you get his stuff, get the following things:
Water bottle
Food bowl
Mouse Food
Seeds (dont give him TOO much)
Excercise Wheel
Bedding

GL with him!! I bet he is really cute!
