i made a post earlier but since then my guinea pig has a slight runny nose.. hes been sneezing every now and then but now his nose is running... someone help me is it just a cold?

It's just a cold. When I had guinea pigs, I would put a towel over their cage at night so there's no cold draft and there's less of a chance for a cold!

What bedding are you using?DO NO use Cedar/Red Cedar/Pine Shavings or Sawdust. These beddings are all dangerous and can cause URI's (Upper respiratory infection) which can be fatal.
Does he cough as well? As this is another symptom.

Also, has he had enough vitamin C? As not enough of this can cause them to catch a cold (their cold isn't the same as a humans but they get relatively similar Symptoms). I suggest you to get some red bell pepper for extra vitamin C and call a vets for advice.

No it is not just a cold it is an upper respiratory infection and your guinea pig needs to see an exotic vet. With out vet intervention an URI will take the live of your guinea pig.It is not expensive to treat an upper respiratory infection, just the office visit and about $22.00 for the antibiotics for the guinea pig. Do not be fooled by the fact it is still running and playing, guinea pigs are prey animals and hide the fact they are ill until they are in the acute stage and often to late to treat, this is how they survive in the wild, however it makes it difficult to get them medical care in a timely manner.My Hoshi had an upper respiratory infection and it took him 8 weeks on antibiotics to totally beat it and all he had was the sneezing, they are very hard on guinea pigs and we have to be very aggressive with their treatment.
