Hamster acting Strange ....?
My hamster Yoshi is a female Robo Dwarf hamster. She has been eating a lot and getting a lot bigger since I got her. She has been a lot more lazy and will sit for hours awake. Is she pregnant?

answer:
sometimes people will buy an already pregnant hamster, this is very common. Also, if she has been around a male robo hamster lately, then she is pregnant. Don't disturb her during the pregnancy. A typical robo hamster pregnancy is 20-22 days so right around the time she is about to give birth, clean her cage and give her fresh bedding because you won't be able to clean the cage for about 4 weeks after the babies are born.

After she gives birth, don't bother her because if she feels threatened, then she will eat her own babies. Also, DO NOT TOUCH THE BABIES until they're about 3-4 weeks old because hamsters use scent to communicate and if you got your scent one of the babies, she will think that it's an intruder and eat it. After the babies are grown up (after 3-4 weeks), separate the males and females because you don't want them to mate and gives more litters.

Also, if you have the male hamster in the cage with her , remove him right away because the female can get pregnant again right after she gives birth and that's takes a told on her body. Keep dad in a separate cage alone. Don't put dad with the male babies after they're grown up because he will view them as competition and they will fight to the death.

My female robo hamster just gave birth as well and I've been doing a lot of research on this.

Well she is most likely pregnant if you put a male Robo in her cage too. If not, try not to feed her too much food, or too much treats, as robos are prone to diabetes. Instead, give her fresh fruits like apples, corn, or grapes. (Ones without seeds) Anyways if she is pregnant you have to take into mind all the things or appliances you need for baby hamsters. DO NOT touch the baby robos until 4 1/2 to 5 weeks after birth. Try not touching the mother either as she will be very moody. Experience and Research

Probably. You need a lot of $ to take care of them. (Food, bedding, and cages)
When the hamsters are 4-5 weeks old, separate them into individual cages. (By themselves) or they will reproduce again. Give them to trustworthy friends, family, or adoption at 6 weeks old.

She's probably either bored or pregnant . If you've had her for less than three weeks or she's been around a male she's probably pregnant. If pregnant, she may also be very fussy about building nests or keeping her cage tidy.

My teddy hamster does that. they get huge but shes young. urs may be prego, but probably just feed her less. hamsters only shud be fed one tablespoon everyday. even if th ebowl iis empty dont feed again until the next day
