answer:
The mother knows what to do. Try not to disturb anything for 3 days. You can then do some spot cleaning. The following link gives ideas on cleaning the nursery without disturbing the nest:

After 3 full days (72 hours) you can handle the babies. Please see the following link for the best way to do this:

At 4 weeks, the mice should be weaned. and can be on their own. You will need to separate the boys from the girls, so no interbreeding will result. You also should now keep the males by themselves, as fighting is very likely to occur. Being siblings does not matter . Male mice will fight to the death. They may be friendly to each other one moment, and attacking the next. Too many inexperienced people think they can leave the males together with no problems, but a happy ending is unlikely. The females, on the other hand, are best kept together. They do very well with each other. Also, please see the" weaning " ; section for additional information on how important it is to keep the males alone. The link is:

TheFunMouse web site is a wonderful place to get mouse information. The people there are well versed in caring for mice, and take it very seriously. The home page is at:

All the best with those babies. I hope they all thrive for you.

Just make sure that mama mouse has plenty of good food & fresh water. Offer her a bit of boiled egg now & then. Try not to allow her to get stressed, as she may abandon or harm the babies.

The babies will open their eyes when they're about 2 weeks old, which is also when they'll begin experimenting with solid food. At this point, you may gently handle the babies. Babies with pink or red eyes may open them a day or so later than dark eyed mice.

The boy babies should be separated as soon as they're weaned or you may have more babies on the way.

Minnie mouse will look after them without your intervention. Leave them well alone or you could get a nip from mum. Once they start running about, in about three weeks, take them to the pet shop owner who may take them for free, with a view to selling them on.

let the mother take care of them. just give the momma twice her regular food amount. Then at around 4-6 weeks of age separate the boys from the girls. and find homes for them at about 5-8 weeks of age.
