Is this fair on my hamsters?

Is this fair on my hamsters?
I currently have 3 roborovski hamsters and I love them to peices but they hate to be handled and even though for the last 5 months + I have been handling them daily they have made a great improvement and 2 of them are letting me handle them for around 1 minute but I would love to be able to trust them and allow them to run around my lap but because they are VERY VERY fast I can't trust them not to un away. I know it sounds horrible but I am really worried they will run away and I won't see them again.
A few weeks ago I looked after my friends winter white hamster and because he is bigger in size and isn't as fats I trusted him more so I allowed him to run around all over me without being worried he would run away. Now that he has gone back to my friend I am really missing not being able to do that so I asked my mum and dad if i could get anotehr hamster and they said mabey I could because I am going to pay fo it. But I am worried taht this isn't fair on my current hamsters?

What do you think?

Thank You

answer:
I think it is completely fair. I think you are doing an excellent job. I have one hammy and I think it is a winter white. She is very small though. It isn't the breeds on what can run around and cant, it's the level of comfort. I got my hammy from a friend and it was very sweet and i learned how to pick up, and how to put the hamster down. for the new hamster that you get, you want to get a baby so you can have the hamster feel comfortable with you so to pick it up, put a hand down and wait till he crawls to you. do that a while so he/she will feel comfortable. Also, when you go to get your hamster, let him know your coming by softly talking to him.

Hope this helped!

the robos will still need attention. but what you can do is: take a robo or two and go into the bathroom (where there are no places they could get into) and sit on the floor and let them run around . you can handle them better in the bathroom.

i rescue and foster hamsters

No, it will take some time for the to be completely trusted around new humans. Mine took at least a year or a half. But, that's good, that your handling them daily, that helps so much. Go to a pet store, and get one of these things that are made for hamsters, their closed in fences, their small, but their tall enough, that the hamster cant jump or crawl out of. They also have different colors too. Put all your hamsters in there, and put your hand in there, and let them crawl in your hand, and sniff. And also put some toys in there for playing. You could also find these online. And also keep in mind, that it is going to take time! And no, its not cruel to your hamsters.

Hope this helps
