Why wont my guinea pig eat any of her veggies!!?
i got my guinea pig about 3 weeks ago and she wont eat her veggies. i give her wide variety of them every day so i know the veggies isnt the problem and im pretty sure shes not sick cause i got her the first day she moved into petco. also she eats her timothy hey and pellets like a pig. and when i give her yogurt drops she eats those all up. so whats the problem and does she absolutely need veggies to survive?
answer:
She does need vegetables to survive. Start her off with carrots. My guinea pigs adore carrots (as seen in my picture). Once you start the carrots, she will like it. If not, then give her some Romaine lettuce. This lettuce is great and has loads of vitamin C and most guinea pigs adore it. Those are the top 'loved' vegetables. She may just be scared. It took my guinea pig three months to start eating his carrots. Just give her a bit of time, leave the vegetables in her cage. Or when you are cuddling her, offer her some. copyright 5d2d.comPets Questions and Answers

No, they don't need veggies to live. The hay and pellets are good enough.
Make sure your guinea pig has plenty of water, too.

Don't feed them lettuce. It's not good for them! Heres a link of good and bad foods for guinea pigs

she doesnt HAVE to have vegetables, but they are good for her health. try giving her lettuce and carrots, my cousins pigs devour them. Lettuce is nutritionally good for them because there is plenty of vitamin C in the hard stem part and it is good tasting to them. vitamin C is good for their digestive systems, and to help prevent upper respiratory disease. (as soon as they catch this disease if not treated immediately it will result in a very sad death)
