Im building a snake cage next year for my snake. Right now he has a 75 gallon tank until next year. How much would it cost? Im thinking about making a 5x2x2 cage for him with sliding doors. Also, any safe paints i can use ? 10 points
You'll probably end up spending between $ 180 - $ 350 complete with heat depending on what you make it out of and how exotic you get with the design. Use melamine or laminate for the inside and caulk the joints with aquarium grade silicone. The outside can be top coated with whatever you like. If you are going to use paint use a flat and then top coat with a polyurethane of the sheen you want.
I Build them out of 1/2 "plywood and trim grade 1x2 and 1x4. I coat the inside with drylok. I use plastic tracks and 1/4 "sliding glass. For an 8x2 cage it costs me about $ 100 plus heat source and lights. I usually use keyless fixtures with CF bulbs and flexwatt sealed under plexi so it is only about another $ 20 for heat and light
what kind of snake is it? i cant help you if i dont know the size of ur little buddy ... lol he might not need a bigger one ... not to say u dont know what ur talkin about tho! u probably know moe than i do.
