Chinese water dragon HELP !!!!!!!!!!!?

I went to my waterdragons tank and thought he was dead, after mourning for a few hours, i went back upstairs to notice that when i was about to wrap him up his leg twitched, my dad immediatly took his to the vet after we noticed that his leg was still moving. We dint know what is happening, until about 4 days ago he was perfect, and then he got all lazy, wegave him his time and when we were going to take him to the vet i thought he was dead until his leg twitched. Any insight would be great, i just want to know what couldve happened and what is happening because we thought he was dead but he isnt. His entire upper body wont move and he wont breath or move his head, he feels very light and lifeless. Plz any insight will really help. Thank you, i just want some hope.
he most likely has mbd. the symptoms tat you described are thatof metabolic bone desease, it causes reptiles to be extremely lazy, almost lifeless , and have random jerking or twitching in their muscles. what you need to do it get a uvb bulb, if you already have one, then relace it if its over 9 months old. and also dust the crickets with calcium every feeding except for once a week when you give him multivitamin on his food instead of calcium, and also make sure the tank is big enough and has alot of swimming space and climbing space because inadequit swimming and climbing space is a contributing factor to what you have described. and take him to th vet now because there might still be something they can do to help reverse it, if you wait any longer though, it will die.
Did you have the dragon checked for intestinal parasites? Stress (like being in an enclosure that's too small) can cause parasites in the gut to grow out of control.

yea it might also be parasites like tpau15 suggested. but the tank should be 2 times the length of the dragon

Can you provide more info about the enclosure setup that you had for the water dragon? Did you have UVB lighting? If so, how old was it and what is the make and model? What was the basking temp? What food were fed regularly? Did you use calcium supplementation? The more info you give the better the help.
More information is needed, heat, lighting, vitamins?
