what is a good type of frog to get?

  idk
Whatever you get, make sure you get it as a tadpole. It sooo cool to watch the metamorphosis! I raised my 2 from tadpoles.=)
Depends what sort of tank you got. Treefrogs prefer tall tanks which are those specialty made reptile tanks. They're more expensive, but also high-tech and meant specifically for them. A lot of them come with helpful kits which give you most of the stuff you need. Dart Frogs and other types of terrestrial frogs like long tanks since they can't climb. These are cheap and easy to find, but these frogs tend to be less exciting and make less use of the tank.

Treefrogs tend to be more expensive, but larger in size. They have healthy appetites and like to shove whatever fits into their mouths. They can be kept communally, but all the frogs have to be the same size, lest one eat the other. They often require tropical climates with high temperature, high humidity. They cannot swim, but need a water bowl for daily soaking. They are harder to find, but the beginner frogs such as Dumpy Frogs or Green Tree Frogs are found at most chain pet stores. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Terrestrial frogs are easier to find and generally easier to keep because they don't need as high temperatures. They don't do very much though and often just hunker down in the substrate. They also require water bowls. The varieties range from the Pac -Man Frog to some very exquisite dart frogs. If a reptile expo stops in town, I suggest checking it out, as it's probably the only place you'll be able to find dart frogs at.
What are you going to do with this frog once you buy it? Small frogs are good if you are going to feed it to one of your other pets. Large bull frogs are good if you are going to eat it yourself.
