Californian King snake feeding question?

Okay so i was thinking about getting a cali king as my first snake and i have been reading alot about them but i have one question that i cant seem to find the answer too. So i was planning to keep my cali in a RUB tub but i read that it is best to move the cali to a different area when you are feeding it so that is doesnt associate your hand coming in with food at all times and the danger of it eating the substrate but that isnt really my concern because i read that you can use news paper or kitchen towel as a substrate that the snake wont swallow. And i also read that you cant pick up a snake after it has eaten for like a day or 2 so about the moving to a different area/tub? does that mean i have to leave it in the other tub for the 2 days or is it okay to pick it up after it has eaten just to move it back to its home? or should i leave it in the feeding tub and move the heat mat and hides and water into the new tub?

sorry its probably a stupid question but its something im not to sure about so any advice/help would be great thanks
You don't have to feed your snake in a different place. If you do, the 'recommendation' is that you don't handle it for a couple of days afterwords. Just to move it to the regular cage after eating won't do any harm, especially if the snake is used to being handled anyway. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

The concern about handling after feeding is that it will regurgitate if it gets handled too much.
Feeding in a separate enclosure is a waste of time. It's a beginner practice and a myth that it will make your snake less likely to bite you . As far as handling, most people say 24 to 48 hours. Baby king snakes have a very fast metabolism and you can safely handle them the next day as long as there is no visible lump. I would wait an extra day for older kings. I have bred kings for years and have produced several hundred of them and have never had one regurgitate a meal.
