hello
i am buying a starter kit for a corn snake and it comes with a Habistat Mat Stat Thermostat
can someone please tell me as simple as you can explain what this does, how it works and how to use it

A thermostat basically controls the temperature of your heating equipment (usually a heat mat)
Unstatted mats have to potential to to heat up incredibly hot - they can and do burn animals.
A stat will stop the temperature fluctuating too much and will be much easier to control.
Some brands have different dials and stuff to others, but they all work basically the same. Plug your heatmat into the stat and the stat into the mains, then set the dial at the temperature you need:)
