What are ways to make your mealworms energetic?

I have 2 leopard geckos and they wont eat mealworms that dont move when i put my worms in the gut load they jus lay around some are jus on there backs and jus basically dont move. Is there any way to get them to b more lively like cutting a piece of them or something i have a farm of them in 3 seperate containers the first stage worms in oats w potatoes then i move some to the gut load where they basically jus dont move and i have another container for when they pupate and then turn into beetles w potatoes. And can you feed the leos the beetles?
Like another poster said, heat is the key. Mealworms are at their most energetic at about 80 degrees. Mealworms also get lethargic with age. In the 2 week period before they pupate, they basically just lay around and barely eat. I see this in my breeding containers all the time. The older worms don't touch the food. The younger worms SWARM the food.

I wouldn't feed a leo beetles. Beetles have too much chitin (the hard shell) to nutrient ratio. It could possibly hurt their digestion long term. Have you considered breeding your own mealworms? It sounds like you're already setup for it . I'll link some info on breeding in the sources.
Mealworms by their very nature aren't really that energetic. Sounds like you may be keeping them wrongly and they may be too hot or too cold. Changes in temperatures can affect their movement.

Alternatively try your leopard geckos on crickets as they are far more energetic for your leopard geckos and they will get alot of exercise from chasing them.

Some leopard geckos will eat the beetles.
Heat em up. Works every time ... put them under the lamp for a bit and they'll warm up and move aruond more. Mealworms are kept cold to prevent from turning into beatles , but that also makes them lethargic
If your mealworms aren't moving then you're not feeding them enough. You need to feed them lettuce, potatoes, carrots, etc.
