Because I always ask him and he always says no because he thinks they smell bad. He also says no because he says that Geckos/Lizards are animals that are meant to be free in the wild. But I am tired of telling him that Leopard Geckos can be considered semidomestcated so how can I convince him. Now that I own geckos I feel the same way your father does but the truth is they're already in the pet industry so the best anyone could do if give them an almost natural life and take care of them. It's better if the people that take them treat them with respect and care for them properly. My geckos are happy and they enjoy my company so it makes me feel better. Plus, you can always say that some people that buy them neglect them and you taken one home could save one from suffering. They're really great pets to have and they love people. And they don't stink!!! Crickets do however I found out so I only buy enough to feed them in one sitting which also gets rid of the cricket noise that bothers some people. My mom wasn't going to let me have a lizard until she saw him and fell in love too so try taking your dad to a pet store or breeder preferably and show him what's it's all about. If he does let you get one try buying from a reptile breeder that's owns a store because they can give you so much information regular store can't. Also breeders take care of their reptiles better because they know how to unlike many pet stores I've walked into.
