I got a ball/royal python, and about three people have told me (One an adult) that their friend's friend had a pet python, and that the python starved itself and used to stretch out on the owner's bed next to the owner. The owner took it to the vet and the vet said that it had to be put down. Why? Because the snake was stretching itself out to see if it could fit the owner in it to eat.
I've heard it from three people, none of them know each other, and i read somewhere about the same story, that was 2 years ago ..
Is this fake? Is it like the whole bloody mary thing? It seems like just another story to me.
A Ball Python is not capable of swallowing a human. Yes, this story is fake.
Haha, yeh I 've heard it from many people before too. Its fake, besides a ball python is different from a burmese python, or a rock python, etc. They are all different sizes, a ball python couldn't eat you if it tried. Just all phony crap that people makeup. I've heard it too many times because I breed ball pythons and people try to tell me this because I have a young son, they are trying to scare me into not keeping them anymore .. Well I ' ve owned ball pythons for 9 years now, think I'd know if mine tried to "eat" me! lol
A snake's brain is too simple to plan something out such as starving itself and measuring it's meal. If they see food, they eat it, plain and simple. This is a myth that's been circulating for years and why some people tell the story as if it happened to someone they know is beyond me.
I heard this same thing from a lady I was talking to, and she got rid of her snake for that very reason.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com First of all, my advice is: DON'T SLEEP WITH YOUR D **** ED SNAKE!!!!
And second, don't own a dangerous snake if you are retarded.
Ignore people and their stupidity. Since I began my ball python hobby I've heard a bunch of ridiculous stories.
That stories about my friends room mate but it was a boa constrictor. I advise you to always keep it in a cage . If its not eating, bring it to the vet. Personally, its scary to me to have a snake in my house!
Hope all goes well! PS ITS NOT FAKE! ITS REAL! SO PLEEEEEEASEE BE CAREFUL
Think about it logically. Why would a predator stretch itself out beside its prey ... I mean that's like saying to the prey "Hey, I'll give ya a 30 second head start ". Its total rubbish. I HATE that stupid story, it annoys me so much.
There was a true story about a girl with a boa that slept with her. She woke up to it wrapped around her neck and chest. Her dad had to cut the snakes head off to free her.
I saw this on "When animals attack"
It is fake. I live in Finland and the story is known here too. I also read somewhere that snakes don't act that way.
Yup it is fake just like the whole bloody mary thing.
never heard this and not believing a word of it!!! it was told by some idiot that knows nothing about snakes.
This story is totally true. i swear
Bull . Absolute bull.:)
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com First of all, a snake's brain is too simple to come up with a plan like starving and stretching themselves to make room for such a large creature. They only eat small rodents. About the only human a ball could kill would be a newborn, and why would they? They're not inclined to do so. If something isn't small enough to be food, they're not going to kill it. Something threatening, they'll curl up into a ball or try to slither away.
Second of all, it would be completely impractical. "Hey, lunch! How are you this fine day? Don't mind me, I'm just going to see how big I have to be to eat you!"
So no; they will NOT eat a human. It's impossible.
And another thing, who lets their snake lay down next to them like that? 0_o
Complete bull:)
Just try and imagine how successful (or not so successful, as the case may be) a predator that went and stretched out beside its prey to see if it could potentially swallow it would be ....
Totally impractical!
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com "Hey lunch, just hold still for a while while i lay here and see if you can fit inside me"
More silly snakey horror stories:)
Why would you sleep with a snake? I've never heard of this before.
