Is my corn snake shedding okay?
the last twice my 7 month old corn snake has shed, everything seems to be fine his skin comes off in one piece but then i noticed that right at the end of his tail still had the old skin on it.
i thought that it would just come off in time or the next time he shed but he shed today and its still there. Is this a problem and is there anything i can do to remove it if so?
answer: If your snake has trouble shedding (even a little bit like you said) you should soak it. You soak your snake for 15 mins. each day in luke warm water. Then eventually it will come off on its own or you can peel it off. Make sure you soak it in a container with a lid, poke holes in the lid for air, and you keep an eye on it. If it poops in the water take it out immediately, clean the container, and refill with warm water. Only fill the water up enough so that it covers the snakes body but it can still lift it's head out (about an inch or two) I have had to do this many times for some problem shedders I have, and was recommended this by a reputable vet :)
