I am getting a bearded dragon and i want to know if sand is ok if you feed them in a box?
and how much time will it take out of your day? how much would be the grand total be? and are they a fun pet to have?
I don't ever recommend sand...too many prolems associated with it, even if you feed separately, beardies like to lick and they can eat too much of it. Plus it harbors bacteria and parasites and smells bad.
You can take it out for a short time each day. Depends on how tame it is. Don't force him to be held too long if he's stressed.
Total for the beardie and accessories? Be prepared to spend a few hundred dollars initially, then monthly electric and food bills (insects and salad).
They aren't "fun"...mostly they sit and bask under their heat and UVB lamps, but they are interesting to own and care for.

I agree with the above answer, they aren't very fun to have but are interesting. My cousin has one and he mainly just rests under his lamp. They do cost a couple hundred dollars, so be prepared of the costs. Pretty much the above answer covered everything you asked.
