Why did my african dwarf frog die?
I just found my ADF dead at the bottom of its cage, it had some cloudy stuff around it, or maybe growing on it. Is it a disease? Will it affect my other frog? What should I do? Why did it die? Did I do something wrong? It looked bloated/ really fat a few days ago. What does that mean?
That was probably a disease that killed it i would do some research.
the white stuff is prob. wat is called Water mold I think that is what its called when my betta died she had that around her other than that I recomend some recherch I personaly dot know a thing about ADFs but I knew about the white stuff so I thought I could help you there.
Im sorry for you :(
Sounds like a type of mold. As a precaution in an attempt to save the other frog make sure to clean every part of the cage and every decoration you have in there with a bleach solution. Just make sure that everything is rinsed well before placing the frog back into the cage.
Hi. The cloudy material is likely fungus that developed after the frog died (unless you noticed it beforehand. Bloating can be from a bacterial infection (bacteria produce gas) or from eggs that developed but were not laid (females will not lay unless a male is present and ready to fertilize the eggs).

Unfortunately, we do not know much about ADF diseases, but proper care is important in avoiding problems. Please check my article on ADF Diet
http://blogs.thatpetplace.com/thatreptil… and feel free to post further questions there (be sure to include details concerning temperature, type of filter, tank size). Water quality is very important also…I’d suggest a partial water change and then check ammonia levels..please post further questions.
Best, Frank
