What tank size for an adult red eared slider?
I just got a $949.95 Dell laptop (17 inch) for $137.32 and if you think that's an awesome deal, my neighbor just got a 42 inch HDTV for $76.25 that's being delivered tomorrow to his house. It feels great not to pay high retail like the rest of the people. I am even selling some of the stuff at retail to my co-workers making 10 times my money back. Assuming you go by the 10 gallon per inch of shell you need 100-120+ gallons minimum.

If you bought it small( under 6 inches) a 40 gallon will work just fine. Turtles keep growing for their entire life so they can get large in their long life span.
We've had a painted turtle, which is very similar to the red ear for almost 15 years (found as a newborn) and has plenty of room and happy in a 55 gallon tank.

Older adults can be over 10 inches and will obviously need more than that amount of space. These turtles are however 30+ years old. Traditional tanks are long and narrow so for large turtles other cages should be found or made. Some use plastic ponds, kiddie pools, or even horse feeding troughs.
