What is wrong with my baby Leopard Gecko?
My Leopard Gecko is about a month old living with my sisters Leopard Gecko which we bought out of the same tank from Petsmart three days before Christmas. The habitat has two heat lamps, 70 watt for day and 100 watt for night, they have a mat instead of sand because, I've read that they can swallow the sand and get impaction, they have a shallow watter dish, and something to climb on. They eat crickets, we tried meal worms but they didn't seem to eat them. They're both getting the same care, just mine has become immobile (seems to sit in the same place for long periods of time, as the other sits around sometimes but we at least see it move around. He doesn't seem to be eating as much as he should, like today I watched the other one eat three crickets as mine just sat around lifeless. I think he eats when he's starving because when I look at his tummy he has (what I think is) the dark spot where the food is, but his is back by his butt. His eyes aren't open wide when they are open. Can someone tell me what might be wrong with him?
he might be blind
Are you giving him calcium sup. with the crickets and get the one thats having the prob out of the tank with the other one If it is infectious he/she might catch it. when do you feed him day or night??he might be dehydrated try sprinkling some water on his lips If he licks it keep on until he/ she start refusing it then let him sit for a couple hours then try again with the crickets. Thenlet me know how it turns out!! I hope thats his/her prob. :) pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

I owned a baby that stopped eating but sadly she passed and own a adult leo
hey those thumbing down that he could be blind- he could be but its very unlikly and doesnt solve your delema :)
i understand why you put a warmer bulb at night, they are nocternal so it makes sense but its actualy worse for them, 100 watts is also a little high unless the lid is three feet from the tank floor :D i use that on my beardie to keep him at 110. as u probly know your leo only needs low 90.
it seems unlikly but those factors can make him sick.
how big is the other gecko, yours could be intimidated in this new teratory. even if the pet store had them together- unfortunatly pet stores rarly know anything about the exotic species they keep. And i have one leo that just gets scared with company even tho she is the same size- she gains more weight kept alone.

btw what did the pet store have them on? if its sand then that could be the dark spot you see. all leos have a spot towards the top but the bottom... let me know if they did cuase that requires a lot more info
leave the 70 watt during the day but no more then 40 at night- if shes not impacted or scared of her tank mate thats the problem they are sensitive to day and night temps
- if she is scared of her tank mate-have no fear she(i am assuming she cuase males cant be kept together so i am hoping they both end up girls for you:) can be seperated till she is bigger then reintroduced
while unlikly she may have difficult eating on a mat cause they get teeth stuck on it- my babies do but its never stopped them from trying (its funny true but they usualt end up on paper)
just a few random tips-
a cheap temperary cage can be made with a 15qt contaner and a cheap undertank heater. use paper for substrate and small contaners for hides- and there you go, a leo cage for only $25
dont forget moist hides! :)

dont forget vitamins- i recently adopted a leo with sevear metabolic bone disease look it up, the worst case you see will look like Knubbs, luckly Knubbs died recently and suffers no more
good choice on mat, my first leo diet from calci sand, before i knew better

8 leos plus a bunch of other pets that are irrelivent. everybook in the library about them and more sittes then nessary
Don't use heat lamps with leos. You might be over heating them. They have to warm up by laying on heat, so you need an under tank heat mat.
Are your crickets gutloaded? If they aren't well fed, they will be useless as food.
Do you have a moist hide? They must have this to shed properly.
Did you have him checked for parasites yet by an experienced herp vet? Intestinal parasites are very common.
