i have to admit i dont feed him veggies everyday. he will eat crickets and waxworms, so i just feed him that. if i mix a salad for him he wont eat it. at all. he only eats peas. so i tried tricking him by puttin peas in the salad. ingored the salad only ate the peas. what do i do now??? i give him peas freqently now. also he may be compacted so what is the trick with the apple sauce that i read about??
A lot of juvenile beardies don't eat their vegies well. They should have mustard, turnip or collard greens daily, with added peas, carrot and green beans. Alfalfa pellets are also good to add. Mist everything with water. Don 't use applesauce ... apples can inhibit appetite. Rather, you can use babyfood sweet potato or squash on their vegies ... many beardies like this. As he gets older he should eat better. For now, make sure his crickets are well gutloaded at least 24-48 hours before using them as food. Wax worms are very fatty and not good to feed often. Superworms (NOT mealworms) are also very nutritious. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
