Anaconda has scabs on head?

I recently got a yellow anaconda that has a scab on the top of it's nose and a hole (looks like a rat bite) a little farther down it's head. The first owner deliberately kept the snake in a dry cage with little water so the scabs would heal faster. I was positive that letting him soak would actually be better for the scabs (not to mention that an anaconda is a WATER snake) but I'm not 100% sure. Anyone know the 'for sure' answer?
NO!!! even though anacondas are mostly water snakes, they get blisters on their scales if they have too much water. I have kept them for a long time now. you need to keep the wounds dry and clean. and use and antibiotic ointment. I would keep him on paper.
you shud reduce the humidity level in the tank to below normal ... i wouldn't say dry but do reduce it ... buy "tamodine veterinary wound & skin cleaner "clean your snake with it once a day ... wet the area your going to use it on before then use cotton wool or cotton pads to clean the area ... then rinse WELL afterwards ... if it is a rat bite i advise you to switch to frozen rats ... i would also advise you to get f10 disinfectant to clean its tank ... make sure everythings super clean until its better ... you should take it with you to a reptile shop if you go to buy tamodine and ask for there opinion also ... unless its too bog of course? ... if theres no improvement you shou; d definitely take it to a reptile vet
i would take it to the vet to get checked out, rat bites are Very bad and the infection your snake can get from them is Very dangerous. open wounds are never a good thing. if you can't afford that then get the wound healing aid at any pet store, and follow the direction on the box. soaking or not soaking really wont make much difference unless you put something in the water, or the water is not clean. i would not take away the snakes water because dehydration wont do your snake any good either. you really should take it to the vet,
You can give him a tub so he has the option to soak, but make sure the water stays very clean to prevent infection. He definitely needs dry places too. If he can't dry off on occasion he will get scale rot.
get some antibitoic, from a reptile or pet store, repti wound healing aid works good.
