Heat attracts them. Anytime my pet lizards and snakes escaped I could catch them near either my laptop which I left on and alone. Look near a TV, refrigerator, Your bed, etc.
Cheese will do nothing for you. Dried fruit flies maybe. It really depends on the type of lizard.
