i have a 2 foot ball python and i have put a 6 "by 4" by 2 "water dish in his tank half full. I change the water in it every day, is it ok to let the snake soak in it for as long as he likes? I heard this can give him skin soars.
That is fine and very normal. Balls like to soak. Just be sure she doesn't have mites or is too hot. This site can answer lots of ball python questions:

No, it's not good.
Either he's getting ready to shed, in which case you should bust humidity, or it's way too hot, and you need to check your temps and turn off the light for a while.
I hope you're not serious ... instead of running straight to yahoo answers, consider a simple google search. I think you'd be surprised to see what you get:

long as it doesnt soak for more then 4-5 days
it could be good and bad. i would ask a local reptile keeper
