Water turtles * do * hibernate. However, if you're keeping them in captivity, they don not * need * to hibernate, and neither do box turtles. They may slow down a bit because they can tell it's getting near winter, but keep their temps and humidity up and they should be fine.

It depends on what kind of turtle .... if you have box turtles, they need hibernat. water turtles dont hibernat. Just make sure they stay a high temp. around 70 to 85. Nows the time there getting ready for winter.
