Can bearded dragons eat baby food?
Okay, so my bearded dragon is sick ( we don't know exactly what is wrong with him ) Some of the symptoms are, not eating, and he is all shriveled we have been taking good care of him but now his one eye has closed up. So, we needed him to eat something so we went to the store and bought Beech Nut baby food that was green beans. we put the baby food in an eye dropper and had no choice but to force feed him it. Normally he would have been trying to get way but he just laid there and let us open his mouth. Should I continue with the baby food idea? It's absolutely the only way that he will eat. He seems to be gaining a slight bit more weight. Any idea's ? I have had him for approx 2 1/2 years,

I wouldn't recommend the baby food, because it has unnatural sugars that aren't healthy for a bearded dragon to have on a regular basis. Also, when bearded dragons are cold, they won't eat. Make sure that the heating lamp in his cage is on, and is up-to-date. It would be in your best interest to move your bearded dragon to a warmer area, or fix/change the light bulb in his cage. Also, too many crickets will often stress out a bearded dragon and keep it from eating. Try feeding your bearded dragon some chooped vegetables, especially leafy ones, but NEVER ice berg lettuce. Wax worms can also help your little guy to gain some more weight. Some veges you can feed him are kale, turnip/mustard greens, parsley, and dandelion greens. In conclusion, if your bearded dragon isn't eating after a day or two of this, I would definitely recommend for you to take him to your vet, or at least talk to a pet store clerk and ask their advice. Good luck with your bearded dragon - I hope he starts eating!
um i am sure that they can eat baby food . you can also try apple sauce just like regular apple motts apple sauce mine used to be all over that. I am also sure that if its the only way to get him to eat its a ood i dea. i may also suggest that you should take him to a vet, just to make sure he doesnt have an infection or anything. good luck :P

living with bearded dragons sine i was very little so personal experienece
Continue with the force feeding but take him to the vet if you care enough. Or you could just call and ask what they think. They won't be able to give you a fantastic guess as to what it is but they can still help without the cost over the phone. Hope he gets better soon!

Too many sick animals!!
I feed my bearded dragon baby food as a regular part of his diet, and he's doing just fine! You could try blending together a veggie/fruit smoothie with some water to feed him as well. but definately take him to the vet if there seems to be a serious health problem. Better safe than sorry!
I would take him to the vet!!or go to a pet store and ask if they know what is wrong with him!! Good luck!
