I just saw whole videos on youtube. That is ridiculous! I love guinea pigs. Why did they give the snakes. They are freaking stupid. 1 more thing is why do people love snakes ... Well one day they will bite them, i bet. I wish I want to cut the snake head off.
You know most snake owners don't do stuff like you see on the internet. What you see on the internet is for the shock factor. They're aiming to get the reaction you are giving us here.
I love small animals. I've had rabbits, rats, etc. I also love snakes. I rescued them for some time and let me tell you, those people who feed their animals like that the majority of the time take poor care of it . I've dealt with snakes that have lived in horrendous living conditions. I'm not afraid to pick these animals up. Yes, I have been bitten because they're terrified due to past treatment. I too hate people who buy snakes solely for the purpose of watching them kill things. It's actually dangerous for the snake to feed them live prey in an enclosed area. Most vets and breeders actually recommend only feeding f/t (frozen/thawed) rodents. I have never fed live animals to my snakes.

And despite what many people think, each snake has a very different personality. They are extremely curious and like to climb and roam. When you see how inquisitive they are, not hunting - just exploring - you see a completely different side to them.:)
You also have to remember that just because they eat other animals doesn't make them evil. They are carnivores. The world needs carnivores in order to survive. I don't know about you, but I eat meat. I don't beat myself up about it.
I'm not saying you have to love snakes. Just don't hate them because people are stupid and immature. They're not bad animals.
I have a guinea pig and I had a snake for a while. Some snakes need to eat larger prey, but even then rats or rabbits should be suitable. I saw a video of someone feeding a hamster to a tegu ... A lot of the time the videos are just for shock value. People like snakes for the same reason you like guinea pigs, they're just interested in them! I think its sick when people feed their pets something like that, its cruel and usually not safe for the animal. You can provide a healthy lifestyle for your pet without going for the shock value.
As folks have already stated, most of what you see on YouTube as far as snake feedings go is for shock value.

Also, most of the snakes you see are non-venomous. A bite can be painful depending on the size of the snake, but it is not deadly.
Snakes are fascinating creatures. I have 8 and all of them are held, some of them as frequently as can be without over-stressing them. I also feed strictly frozen/thawed rats and rabbits. You have allowed YouTube BS to trigger this over the top response. Stop. Relax. Calm down. Snakes aren't evil and most who keep them are not scared or idiots.
