my turtle doesnt have a tail it was born with no tail and its about a year old and acts fine whats the deal with that? Also his shell is turning white in one spot and piece broke off what is that?
Clean the affected area very gently with a soft toothbrush. Then, wash it once a day for two days with Betadine, then switch to Nolvasan for another 5 days. Both of these can be bought over the counter at a pharmacy. See a vet if it doesn ' t get better. Also make sure your filtration system is working properly, you do water changes, and remove uneaten food after feeding time to keep the water clean.
Also, do research on the type of turtle you hae, make sure he has a proper diet, and that the water is always clean. Also, get a UVB light for him if you don't have one. They need it to grow strong bones and shells. Try this site:

well i have a turtle to and i think that the no tail thing is just a miner thing that could happen to anything! umm my fish started to have white stuff on it and they died. it was a diseese called ick or something. he might have it but i dont know if turtles can get it or not. i would have to look it up! hope it helps !!!!!!:^ D ps i wouldent be very worred about the tail
