day: a mercury light pointed to a turned off heat rock and some plants (both fake and real) and a ceramic heat lamp on plants (both live and fake)
night: heat rock on and ceramic heat lamp and heating pad on under the tank
(This is just for lighting and heating, and i will adjust everything to make sure it is the right temperature):)!
What time of animal? Never use heat rocks unless you feel the need to pay for large vet bills. Heat rocks over heat and can injure if not kill the lizard.
Take out the heat rock and through it in the garbage immediately. Heat rocks only give off a sinle spot of heat. So the reptile will go onto the rock and wont be able to realize its getting too hot and burn.
If it is a snake i would say Just use a light and a heat pad (depending on the snake you should get a 50 Watt bulb and put a dimmer on it. Make sure the cage wont get too hot. If it does remove the light and just use the heat pad. The temps should be about 5 degrees cooler at night, as they do need a sense of night and day.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com A gecko i think you can just use a regular 50-70 watt bulb and a uvb light, at night turn off the UVB and use a dimmer to dimm the regular light.
It really depends on what kind of fish it is. This in most cases will work!
Good luck!
