savanna monitor question?

does anyone know if it is healthy to let my savanna monitor hibernate? or does it not make a diference because if it is ok then im kinda curious to see it, do u know how to get them to? to tell the truth idek if they hibernate i just sawl it on the internet. he is now 30 inches and he is a year and 6 months old he grew fast
its 'healthy' if its done right. you need to know everything about it before you do it so it doesn't harm the lizard. hibernation is mainly used for breeding as it increases the chance.

if you do choose to do it all you need to do is put the temperature down but not a dramatic change over a short period of time as this will shock the lizard and cause problems for it. decrease the temperature over a month to the designated temperature and then leave another month or two at this low temperature.

however its nothing to be curious about really ... its just them in a cold enclosure which means they slow down and don't eat for the time in hibernation ... some may eat it depends on the lizard.
Unless they are breeding there is no good reason to brumate. It is usually better not to
