if it isnt biq enough could u tell me wat size or gallon
If we are talking about a male BCI, then yes, a 4X2X1 will be sufficient for an adult male. For a female, a 6X2X2 will be sufficient. The general rule of thumb is a square foot of cage for every foot of snake. You can use this rule to appropriately size a cage for BCC subspecies, as well. These tend to grow larger, of course.
And please, whatever you do, don't house a boa in a glass aquarium type tank. It is difficult to keep temperature and humidity where it needs to be with a glass cage. Invest in a commercially available plastic or melamine cage. You can also build a melamine cage if you are the least bit handy.
Given that boas are mostly nocturnal, it is a common misconception that they are not active and don't need much space. And for the poster that said breeders keep them in shoebox sized containers, this is true ..... for newborns. The asker specifically stated "adult red tail boa".
Proper caging makes proper husbandry much easier and will help lead to a long, healthy life for your boa.
If you are talking about a 30 gallon aquarium then yes it is. Snakes don't require as much

room as people think. The don't exercise, they don't run and play. Honestly they are moe
secure in a cage that is about the lenght of them. Big time breeders that keep 40-50 snakes
keep them in much smaller tanks (shoe boxes) then a 30 gallon tank.
What it needs is warmth, water and food, snakes are not that demanding.
It depends on the size of your boa? I have a 5 foot boa and shes in a 4 foot by 2 foot tank ... im upgrading her tank to a 5 foot long tank soon ... for an average red tailed boa you should have a tank longer then 4 feet ... id say 6 but 5 at the LEAST, height isnt too important just make sure its at least 2 feet high ... and at least 2 in depth.
Hi, No, 4 foot isn't quite big enough and you don't specify whether male or female. Foe male I think you would be happier with a 5 'x 2 'x 2' and for a female I would go 6 'x 2' x 2 'and I would always use a wooden vivarium.
Good luck

Depends on what you mean by red tail. There are a lot of boas that get called red tails. Some get over 10 rest long
I Acutally have a 6ft x 2ft Cage setup depending on how long ur redtail is
