I suggest Leopard Gecko its small and doesn't bite, it can grow same size as your palm, adorable and beautiful colour like leopard lol i've two and i put them together in large insect case ... If they fight each other separate them because they will lose their tail and that's not a nice looking ...
If your going to own a pet don't be scared of them. Basically all pets bite, get used to it. But the one that bites the least (besides a ball python) is a turtle. How ever turtle bites can be bad. I dont suggest getting a reptile though. Or you could get a lizard but those can bite and you need to take good care of it.
