my bearded dragons are going into brumation and i don't know i have have the vet check them over for any parasites etc .. i want to know how to brumate them safely. opinions appreciated
im not sure what temp you need to aim for but it takes up to 2-3 month to do so and this is the shortest time.
bring the temperature down over a month (to the temperature it needs to be-not quite sure of this), maybe 2-3 Celsius a week but not a big dramatic change. it can be a shock to your pet if you take them out of a hot enclosure and put them in the cold so fast.
after a month keep them for another month in this low temperature you have aimed for separately. keeping them separate will increase the chance of eggs.
after a month as passed where they have been in the low temp you need to start 'warming' ... bring temps back up to correct temperature but also not a dramatic change (over a two week period)
