I heard i could mix warm water and listerine to get the mites off my snake. Would this work or harm my snake. If so, what else would work??
Once you get rid of mites in your enclosure and room with some sort of spray there are a few readily available (I use top of descent), this is a must as their is no point getting mites off the snake then putting him back in the room/enclosure with the mites,
you can bath the snake in warm water soak the snake for 1-2 hours in a tub with a lid so snake cant get out and with some air holes, with enough water so as to cover the snake but it can keep its head out of the water comfortably, the snake should enjoy this also as it sooths the itching of the mites as well as drowning the mites.
snakes usually try to sit in their water dishes when they have mites as that is how they deal with the problem "naturally"
My roomie breeds ball pythons and he uses a bedding spray made to spray on human bedding to kill lice. The one he has is equate brand. I'm not sure exactly how he uses it .... could be spraying it on the snakes, maybe just in their pen. I would ask but he is on the phone with his son and that usually takes a good hour. Sorry I couldn't give you more details on exactly how he uses it but that is what he uses. Hope I helped:)
