I got him two days ago, and I know that he is probably going through relocation stress, but whenever we offer him crickets he just closes his eyes.
He is a baby, but is in a 55 gallon tank. Is that too big for him? We feed him in a tuperware enclosure so that we don't have to catch leftover crickets but we also tried feeding him in his tank and no success .
Your tank size is fine you can never have enough room for them.
he may be just scared abit, or you are shoving the food in his face, anything would shut their eyes with some thing put too close to them.
give him time he should get more used to you and the feeding they are very timid and fragile at a young age my adults still shut their eyes if I try to hand feed them and put it too close to their eyes.
lol, 55 is huge for a baby. Try a 10 gallon tank.
