Okay, so I found a 20 gallon tank on Craigslist that's real cheap, but the thing is, I am 10 dollars short. And the tank for sale is basically intended to be sold as an aquarium for fish, so it comes with all the accessories for fish. However, I'm planning on getting the tank for my lizard. So if I could talk him into a lower price by taking some of the accessories away, that would be great. But I've no idea how to do it ... it's my first time ever buying from a person via phone. I'm really nervous. What do I say when I call him up and try to get him to lower the price?
Again, this is my first time doing this, so I'm kinda nervous.
In this kind of a situation, it's okay to be honest. Call the seller up and say this: "I was wondering if you'd be willing to take $ 10 less. I'm not trying to lowball you or cut you short, that is simply how much cash I have in hand right now. "Usually a seller on craigslist is willing to take a best offer, and won 't sweat $ 10, unless he's asking like $ 15. Good luck!
Just ask, if it's only a $ 10 difference, the guy probably won't mind. People are always glad to help and don't be scared to ask questions .
Haha dont be scared man. A lot of people are worthwihle guys on Craigs list. Just tell him your situation (your most likely his ownly buyer) and im sure he'll lower it.
just be calm and talk to him like you would with your friends but a bit more formal. he can't see you remember so you are fine. i use have this problem when i was a little younger.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com just say something on these lines ...
'Hi .................( person's name) ive noticed your advertisement on the internet and im very interested however there is a slight problem. I only have ...... ......( price) but only need the tank. could you do some kind of deal with me but taking in mind what im after? '
and if he says no then you can't do any more ... you've tried and even though you won't come away with the tank you will come away with confidence:)
