I want to know the steps to prevent salmonella and i wanted to know how you catch it.
The best thing you can do is wash your hands before and after handling or cleaning the tank. Also keep the tank clean. Avoid kissing, licking, etc .. the reptile. You are acutally more likely to get salmonella from food then a reptile.
when owning a reptile, the best way to prevent salmonella is by washing your hands after handling the animal. you get salmonella poisoning by touching your eyes, (possibly nose) and mouth after handling eggs, raw meat, reptiles, etc. without washing your hands.
