I have a Golden Gecko (they are nocturnal and arboreal). Would a zoo-med red nightlight 40 watt bulb in a zoo-med deluxe porcelain clamp lamp (which apparently increases light output by 30%) be enough to heat a standard 10 gallon tank?
The heating device needed will be determined by many factors. Your room temps/humidity, cage setup and placement and other factors all make a difference. There is no clear cut choice. My best recommendation is to use a thermostat with whatever you chose. If not then at least use a dimmer and regularly check your temps with a good digital thermometer or even better a temp gun. I don't like exposed bulbs in cages because there is a possibility for burns so I would put the lamp in a protected area.
yes that would be fine, remember that the red bulb is for night time only and that you still need a day time heat bulb.
yes that would be great
