Can i turn this Fish Tank into a Vivarium?

My Dad is thinking of having a Leopard Gecko or possibly two, so i'm doing a bit of research for him.

So my question is:

Would it be possible to make this fish tank into a Vivarium - http://www.petsathome.com/shop/aquarium- ...

If so we would get the 30x15x12 Inch, the reason we would get a fish tank is because in our area the pet shops don't seem to sell Viv's, and getting them online is hugely expensive plus shipping and thats just for the Viv itself, of course we would be getting a proper kind of lid for it, for proper ventilation, plus all the lights and heat etc.

Also one other question, do you have to have a starter Viv or just a smaller tank for a baby Gecko, or could a baby go straight into the above tank/Viv?

Thanks:)
yes this would be fine for two baby geckos straight away but make sure there are many hides for them so they don't get scared of the open spaces. You could use things like the card board in toilet/kitchen rolls. it may be ok for them when they are adult but it may be a little squashed ... i would have a 3x2x1 tank (feet) for two adults to give them the extra space.

lights are not really needed for geckos even though you can use them if you want but its less expensive without them and the lizard gets the correct amount of care. just a heat matt would do.

you can get cheap wooden tanks on many sites, you just have to look in the right places at the right time. preloved.com is a good site where you can go pick items up locally to you.
Yes fish tanks can be used as vivariums with a special lid which has a glass sliding door on the top and a mesh area for ventilation.

Contact me if you need one as I can get these for you at very good prices!
That would be perfectly fine. In fact, most people use aquariums as their reptile cages. That size would be fine for a juvenile.
