I have always been an avid reptile person. I right now I have types of lizards, but I am thinking of looking into snakes. I want to research more before I go and jump into it but I want to find out the breed that I want first so I can research it. I have already researched the basics and I'm still researching.
I would like a very friendly snake that I don't have to worry about killing me (Well, a much lower chance). Also, that isn't super hard to keep. Like, is not harder to care for than other snakes. I don't mind the work though don't get me wrong! For me it is totally worth it! But, again I just don't want to get killed and bit everyday of my life.
Thanks!
Sorry, but in my experience, corn snakes are one of THE most handleble snakes out there. Even ball pythons are more likely to strike than corn snakes (unless the corn snakes are babies, but at that point, it doesn 't even hurt). I've been bitten by more shy/scared ball pythons than corn snakes.
Ball pythons are also more likely to go off feed for months on end. They're more likely to get respiratory infections and mouth rot, as well. And the bites? They certainly hurt more than a corn snake's.
There are lots of friendly and easy to care for snakes. Ball Pythons, Corn Snakes, Milk and King Snakes are some of the most popular. Corns do just fine with handling, they are just fast moving snakes, as are milks and kings. Ball Pythons are usually more mellow and won't move so much. They can also be picky eaters though.
corn snakes are one of the best beginner snakes and do very well with handling
