I have two red ear sliders. They are grown and both female. I have had then for about 7-6 years and now they are very big. My mother doesn't want them anymore and there is always a discussion on who cleans the tank and stuff like that. I am wondering if I can give them to a zoo or to a turtle rescue team. I am so sad it has come to this but I think they deserve someone better. I might keep one, but I'm not sure. Well please help.
You are lucky to have people like Becky around. Adult RES are almost impossible to re-home. Zoos don't want more and rescues are overloaded with them. Not everyone can afford the space they need .
