My hermit crab lost his big claw a few hours ago and then about an hour later he lost another one. I just got him yesterday. Is he going to die?
I have had thirty two hermit crabs in my life. This is all due to stress from being taken from its home, shipped to a store, then sent to some person. The hermit crab will not grow the legs back and the idiot who said they will clearly does not know a thing about hermit crabs. If you have more than one hermit crab, than separate that one from the others and try to keep it as comfortable till its death or recovery.

Yeah, I needed a heating pad for my hermit crabs. It helps them change shells and just makes them better overall.

This is usually high amounts os stress, sort of like when we are stressed our hair falls out. When did you get your hermies? When they are new they are often stressed and this happens, if hes not new, could anything be stressing him? Too small enclosure, too cold, too hot, low humidity, these can all be why, check everything, hope i helepd.
you obviously werent looking after the poor thing properly. it sounds like it would be better off dead. ask the petshop why.
Of course not! Hermit crabs often shed their appendages in order to allow space for new ones to grow.
