I own 4 huge Sulcata tortoises and 2 hatchlings when I talked to the people at the Fish and Wildlife center I was told since it is a non native species I have no need for a permit.
But since I have so many turtles from rescuing I do have all my proper permits and license.
All you have to do is call and they will give you all the details you need.
Depends on the type of tortise, exotic or native, get ahold of fish and game in your area, theyll be able to tell you .. if you caught it some where though, and it is legal to have, you need a fishing license to be able to harbor it.
There is only one left in existince! His name is Lonesome George.
