FOR RES TURTLE EXPERTS!?

I have a day light for my turtle and a red heatwave light .... do i still need another light like a uvb light for it even though i have a red heatwave light??
Hello During the day, your turtle needs uvb You can take him outside while the weather permits. He does need the uvb and a as well as heat. You can actually save money by getting a mercury vapor bulb.

In the pm y ou can use a heat emitter for continued heat without the light.
Yes, you do need a UVB light because they can develop something called 'soft shell syndrome' and it can deform them. You should allow them outside in real sunlight for a little bit each day but i know that that can be hard because of winter and work, so when you can let them out, but not in winter, and make sure you have a UVB light on them at least 12 hours a day. If the temperature outside gets lower than 60 degrees at night then you will need the red heat light. I hope this helped (:
your cool with the lights.

Water temp MUST be at least 83 to 85 degrees or they will stop eating!! pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

YES. It needs UVB or its bones and shell will not grow properly, will become deformed and this will eventually kill it.
yes you really need a Uvb light so that they would have a nice hard shell and not suffer from bone disease and soft shell syndrome
Yes .. You didn't do too much research before you got this turtle, I can guess.
Make sure your turtle has a little house to hide in. They like little hiding spaces!
