Can the tortoise swim?

I was wondering because they are heavy to swim but they are related to turtles who can swim.
Yes They Can Because In A Tank For A Tortoise, You Need Stones And Plants, And Water. (Ovs Not Too Deep) But They Swim Around In The Water xD
No they do what I call floating with style, while most will certainly sink, the higher domed ones can float for a period of time. This was first seen when they used to harvest Galapagos for food and when they had to dump them overboard for battle reasons they were often seen bobbing in the water actually floating. I do not suggest you do this with any of your tortoises because I am sure it is scary for them and not really fun. Some of the other higher domed species like leopards and sulcatas can float. but no tortoise can actually swim. Again it is not something you should do with yours
NO THEY CAN NOT swim! They will sink and die

Turtles that swim have webbed feet to move water and allow them to be able to keep themself at the top or bottom as they choose. A tortoise is a land dweller and can not brethe in water, can not move the water around they will go to bottom and die.

You can allow a tortoise tobask and or soak in water no deeper than the bottom shell.
